We have a very enthusiastic team of 15 people preparing for our immersion trip to the Philippines in April. Our ages range from 15 to 70 and we have a number of mother and daughter pairs!
We are travelling to San Pio Village near Cebu City where we will be helping to complete a Livelihood Centre for the residents. Communities for Communities has raised over $220,000 to help build houses and infrastructure for San Pio Village. The residents of San Pio were previously living on a garbage tip known as Smokey Mountain. A group of C4C volunteers spent a week in San Pio in 2006 building houses and developing links with that community. Rob Neely, who was part of the 2006 group, is leading the 2012 trip.
